Giants lived in the citadel on the Fortress Hill. When they became thirsty, they drew a mouthful of water from the Olt River. Each time they drank, the river dried up.

A long time ago, a shepherd walked in the still uninhabited area and discovered the wonderful springs of the Tusnad Baths. Meanwhile, the place has been populated, and since then, people came from far away to find cures for their illness.

The devil dug a ditch to channel the water of the Târnava river. But there are many who say that the demons wanted to plow Mount Harghita to sow the seeds of sins. They rolled huge rocks from the mountain to build the Mill of Sins.

The Fairy Witch Firtos gave the young man she fell in love with an echanted horse with which he could come to her every night, but one day the young man fell into a ravine, and the horse turned into stone, but one that since then predicts the weather.

In the days of the Tatar invasion, the Szeklers from Ciuc donned masks to resemble the devil, scaring them and thus defeating the invaders. The remembrance of these events is preserved at Vérkápolna - The Bloody Chapel and at Ördöglik - The Hole of the Devils.

The fortress was owned by someone named Sándur, who severely punished the sinners

Near the fortress there is a small, but very deep lake, at the bottom of which there is a fabulous treasure, guarded by a huge, white snake.

The cellar of the fortress is full of treasures, but its door opens only once every seven years, being guarded by the magical power of the fairies.

A king lived on the Harghita mountain. His youngest son Csicsó married a beautiful village girl and the two moved to the fortress. In the summer nights, one could see fairies sitting on the walls of the fortress.

The daughters of a great lord, Klára, Dála and Ramócsa, married young shepherds. Today, the place where Dala setled is called Daia. A flower, named after the third daughter - Ramócsa’s flower (Daphne cneorum) grows at Dârju.

The teacher of the sons of Gheorgheni’s Lord, the deacon Gábor, lived in the Lazărea castle. He went against the Tartars with a small army of several hundreds, but with a smart strategy, he ultimately defeated an army which had overwhelming numerical superiority.

The road was built by the devil. Mrs. Rapson, a cunning woman, promised the devil a mountain of silver and a mountain of gold to build the road, but she deceived him, and the angry devil destroyed the enchanted road.

The white trail on the sky, the Milky Way, known by the Szeklers as ”the Road of the Armies”, is the trail left by the prince Csaba’s horses when the Szeklers went to help him.

At the meeting of the Belcina and Vargatac rivers there was a strong fortress built on the top of the Várdomb rock. The fortress was inhabited by Lady Hirip and her two sons, Ábrahám and Damokos. The two sons made a great fortune by plundering, and they kidnapped a lot of beautiful girls. Eventually, the two Mikó brothers defeated them and the angry people demolished the odious fortress.

The inhabitants of the mountain fortresses made an alliance to lit up alarm beacons and signal the presence of enemies.

For the happiness of her girlfriend Gyöngyvér, a giant, Hargita sacrificed her freedom: she turned Gyöngyvér into a woman to marry her young boyfriend, but the giant girl had to flee the rage of the others.

The waters of this spring near the Porumbenii Mari are actually the tears of Prince Csaba's niece, who is hiding from her stepmother, until a prince or a valliant knight worthy to be betrothed arrives.

King Saint Ladislau made a miracle-producing spring for his soldiers. This spring is still flowing today, and those who drink from its water are refreshed and regain their lost powers.

The defeated Tatars wanted to hide the spring between Mugeni and Dârju, but the water easily threw the beech trunk with which they wanted to plug the spring. This spring still exists today.

Through a lie, the bell ringer from Tomeşti village drew a curse on his head: his home began to sink, and a lake formed in its place.

The lake preserves the memory of the twelve tortured girls. The lake formed following the curse thrown by Ana upon the Lord of the fortress.

God was the one who gave the mineral water springs to heal the Szeklers, but the devils made the water to smell of sulfur. People called the water of these springs "borvíz" - wine water - because they, besides the beneficial effects for health, bring back cheerfullness.

During the Tatar siege of the Budvár Fortress, a brave archer targeted and hit the heart of the Tatar Khan. The Tatars, seeing what happened, fled, abandoning the siege.

The Giants made the hills of the Praid area from salt. One of them has pierced the hill opposite Árcsó, thus giving life to the salty spring that washes the Csigadomb hill.

Near the Liban Peak there is a lake with a strange odor, which according to local belief is an entrance to hell, which is why it’s called the Devil's Lake.

The lake formed to fulfill the curse of Eszter, a kidnapped girl from Gheorgheni. The lake swallowed the robber who wanted to oppress her. Her memory is still preserved by the fir trunks in the lake.

Two naked fairies are held prisoner in the cave. They suffer from cold, and they curse the whole area if they are not dressed. From time to time, some ugly dwarves also look outside the cave. They are the guardians of a fabulous treasure.
