About
Nera Guesthouse is a family-run accommodation managed by the Fekete family, located on the edge of the village of Bârzava, near Miercurea-Ciuc in Harghita County. Nestled in a quiet and secluded corner of the world, guests can enjoy stunning views of Piatra Singuratică, Hășmașul Mare, and the Caracau Bridge, right in the heart of the Ciuc Basin mountain landscape.
It’s the perfect place to unwind with family or friends, in an authentic setting where time seems to slow down.
The hosts live in the same courtyard, just across from the guesthouse, and welcome guests as family friends. Life here follows the rhythm of slow food and slow tourism, with a focus on local cuisine, traditional activities, and reconnecting with nature.
The guesthouse offers half-board service, with meals lovingly prepared by Beáta, the lady of the house, an excellent cook who uses local and seasonal ingredients. She also acts as a local guide, organizing various activities in the village and surrounding areas. Oszkár, the host, is a ski instructor and a long-time truffle expert, with over two decades of experience in producing mushroom-based delicacies. Truffle hunting and tasting are among the house specialties, offering guests a unique culinary experience.
The guesthouse features 4 rooms, accommodating up to 8 adults and 2 children (3 double rooms and 1 room for 4 people). The spacious yard is perfect for play, relaxation, or outdoor barbecues.
Nearby, just 25 km away, you’ll find the Harghita Băi ski resort with the popular Balu recreation park, as well as the Ski Gyimes slopes, which offer summer bob rides and a wellness area. Also in the same commune, Frumoasa, you can visit the Székely Border Guard Museum, a remarkable cultural attraction. 50 km away, the Mini Transylvania Park in Odorheiu Secuiesc awaits – a perfect destination for families and lovers of history and architecture.
