Festive light projections

The Municipality of Miercurea Ciuc/Csíkszereda once again invites the residents of the city to celebrate together during the Advent season. The walls of the Mikó Castle will be illuminated once more, transforming into a fairytale world through children’s artworks. Now in its fifth year, the festive light projection has become a special part of the Advent preparations, offering a new experience for the entire community year after year.

At the heart of the projections are drawings created by local students from grades 0 to 8, reflecting the children’s imagination, creativity, and festive thoughts.

This year’s works explore the theme “Winter Tales and Christmas Miracles.” Through architectural projection mapping, the children’s drawings and holiday-inspired animations come to life on the façade of Mikó Castle, creating a unique visual experience for visitors.

The drawings feature snowmen, angels, fairies, fairy-tale animals, and imaginary creatures celebrating Christmas together. They also depict family moments and the mysterious winter forest, where every tree and every star tells a new story.

The traditional festive light projections can be viewed on Saturday, December 20, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and on Sunday, December 21, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, offering a shared community experience for the whole family.
