Some life stories tell us not only about one person, but also about a community, an era and an entire world. Táncba vitt élet is one such story.

The book traces the life of Zoltán Gergely, an educator dedicated to building and strengthening communities. Born from conversations between father and daughter, it captures an extended dialogue: a social researcher asks the questions, while an educator shares his story. They talk about education, life’s purpose, family, village life, community, decisions, joys and challenges.

Through personal memories, heartfelt reflections and family stories, a rich life unfolds, bringing to life the everyday world of a bygone era.

Táncba vitt élet is at once a personal testimony, a record of family memories and a document of its time. It explores how our communities shape us, how a vocation becomes a way of life, and how the stories we pass on continue to live within us.
