The easiest way to define the action area of the Csík Mountain Rescue Team is that we cover the mountains surround the Csík Depression.
- South: from the Harghita and Kovászna counties border, including the Csomád Mountains, Tusnad Bath and its surroundings and Piliske Mountain.
- East: the Kászon region, Csík Mountains, till Ghymes.
- North: Hagymás Mountains, including Lonely Rock, till White Field
- West: the ridge of the Middle and South Harghita Moutains

The activity of Mountain Rescue Team "Dancurás" in Gheorgheni takes place in the following territories: Hășmasul Mare, Gurghiului mountains and Giurgeului mountains. There are 450 km of marked hiking trails, almost 100 climbing routes of varying difficulty (up to the maximum of difficulty), and more than 100 sport climbing routes. There are seven ski slopes (more or less functional) on this territory.

The Salvamont (Mountain rescue) was established in 1969 in Romania, and Harghita county was one of the earliest.
We have a National Association of the Romanian Mountain Rescuers based in Brașov, and we also have a proper dispatch center that can be called at any time at 0-SALVAMONT. The coordination of the teams operating in Harghita county is carried out by a County Public Service.
